London Bridge is down

We’re deeply saddened by the death of  HM The Queen.

A dedicated supporter of Scouts, Her Majesty has been a peerless role model for our young people.

Our thoughts are with the Royal Family.

4SW Group Fall 2022

Registration

Note: All youth who were registered as of June are registered through to the end of December.  The current registration cycle (Aug 15 to 31) is for existing members to register for the 2023 Scouts Canada registration year (January to December).  Starting September 1, registration for 2023 will open to the general public.  If you have not registered for 2023 by that time, it is likely that your spot will be taken by someone else. Please note that we do NOT control the registration process and cannot remedy that if you allow it to happen.

Starting Up - Location and Times

Our first meeting for all sections will be on Wednesday September 7th.

Beavers:

Beavers will meet at Willingdon Church starting in the gym at 6:30 pm every Wednesday and ending at 7:30 pm in room 1240 (lower floor, northeast corner).

Cubs:

The normal meeting location for cubs will be Cascade Elementary School on Smith Avenue, but this location is not available for our first meeting, so that meeting will start in the gym at 7 pm (when the beavers leave for their downstairs room) and end at 8:35 in the two 1200 rooms downstairs.

Starting September 14, cubs will meet at Cascade Elementary School starting at 6:50 pm and ending at 8:35 pm.  The odd times are there to allow parents with youth in several sections to drop off at different locations and still be on time.  e.g. Drop a beaver off at 6:30 at Willingdon, drive to Cascade, drop a cub off at 6:50, drive to Willingdon and drop a scout or venturer off.

Scouts and Venturers:

Our meetings will be from 7 pm to 9 pm.

Because the cub pack can't use Cascade school on that first date, we will let them use the gym from 7 to 8 and we will start in the two 1200 rooms. We will switch with them at 8 pm.  The following and subsequent weeks we will simply meet in the gym as the beavers will be done with it by 7 pm.

Upcoming Adventures

Please note the group calendar page for a list of upcoming camps and activities.  Of note, we have an all-sections canoeing day on Saturday September 17 at Deer Lake park.  Here is the schedule. Please note when your section is expected to be there:

  • 9:30-9:45 venturers get ready to paddle
  • 9:45-10:45 venturers paddle
  • 10:45-11:00 Beavers arrive, get life jackets, go into canoes
  • 11:00-11:30 Beavers paddle with venturers
  • 11:30-11:45 Beavers unload and leave
  • 11:45-12:30 Venturers eat lunch, take a break
