EARLY REGISTRATION – PARENTS MUST READ!!!

This year, registration is entirely online.  For the first three weeks of May, you will have the opportunity to reregister through our early registration.  After that, registration opens up for anyone in the lower mainland so you may not be able to get in if you wait.  To register early, starting Monday May 1^st:

Go to https://www.myscouts.ca

·         If you have an account, login to it

·         If you do not have an account, click the link that says:

"If you or your child have ever registered or taken training with Scouts Canada Click here to find your account."

·         When you are logged in, click on the MyFamily tab.  There will be an option for you to register your youth.

Ages:  If your son turns 8 by the end of December of this year, they will be registering for Cubs.  If they turn 11 by the end of December, they will be registering for Scouts.

Based on their information on file, the web page will notify you with a warning if you attempt to register your son for the wrong section. (see below)

There is a $15.00 discount for spring registration.

Here are some instructions from Scouts Canada:

1. A simplified process for parents
to renew their children: A renew icon has been added in the My Family
section. Parents can quickly determine if their child has not been renewed
and launch the registration process by selecting the link beside the child’s
name. The appropriate section for the age of the child is highlighted to ensure
the child is registered in the correct program.

2. Age validation: A prominent warning message will display in the event a parent registers their child in a program that is not age-appropriate.
The result will be fewer registration errors for both new and returning members.

April is Missions Month for 4SW Burnaby Scouting!

Wednesday April 19th is Missions Night - all sections will meet at Willingdon in the Connection at 7:00 pm.

The Willingdon Women's Mission Circle has asked us to gather the following items for their hygiene kits:

• Dark coloured hand towels - Walmart, Ikea, Super Store, JYSK
• 4 oz. (118 ml) plain bar soap - individually wrapped
• Individually wrapped toothbrushes - Dollar stores or your own dentists
• If you don't have time to collect the above, a cash donation can help the ladies to purchase these items to put in the kits (they try to buy in bulk when they can)

Also, for any Willingdon Church short term missions volunteers who go out, they like to supply them with good quality packages of balloons, available at the Dollar stores, a package of 8 for $1.25.

WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 28 - Willingdon Church, The Connection - 7:00 pm

4SW Group Committee is inviting all 4SW Scouting Families to attend this Wed. night at THE CONNECTION, Willingdon Church - 7:00 pm.

This evening kicks off Scouts Canada's National Popcorn Sales Drive. The 4SW Scouting Group uses this Popcorn Fund Raiser as it's ONLY fund raising campaign for the year. The funds received through this fund raising trains ALL our volunteer leaders, provides ALL program expenses, provides CAMP & ACTIVITY SUBSIDIES for each participating youth and leader.

Each 4SW Scouting Family is encouraged to participate in this year's Fund Raising Drive SEP.28-OCT.26 by asking for donations for your son's Scouting program and receiving some gourmet popcorn in exchange. 

Approach your extended family, friends, neighbours, co-workers, customers, clients, suppliers, or anyone else you know who could make a donation to your son's Scouting program and receive some awesome popcorn products in return, to consume or give away. 

4SW Scouting Group rewards the top youth sellers ($300 and more for BEAVERS, $600 and more for CUBS/SCOUTS/VENTURERS) with a special organized activity in the Spring, in addition to the other sales incentives each week of the fund raising campaign.

THE 4SW Group Committee, strongly suggests each family attend the September 28 Popcorn Kickoff and get involved with your sons' activities and ask for donations for the 4SW Scouting program. The Trails End Gourmet Popcorn is the bonus. PLEASE, GET INVOLVED !

Wednesday May 18 - PARENTS **Scouting PRE-REG for 2016-2017 year (all sections), Willingdon Church, 7-8 pm

Wednesday February 17th Scout Week Banquet

All sections will meet at the Willingdon Connection (Gym) on this day for a banquet and awards night.  Doors open at 6:15, flag break, grand howl and river banks at 6:30, Welcome and grace at 6:45, dinner served thereafter. 

THIS IS FOR ALL REGISTERED 4SW MEMBERS & THEIR FAMILY  (a donation basket will be available at the door).

Popcorn Forms and Money Are Due This Wednesday!

Turn the forms in at Willingdon Church between 6:30 and 8:30 pm on Wednesday October 28th.  The order for the group's popcorn must be placed by this Friday, so you cannot be late with this.  You must bring payment and/or return any show-and-sell popcorn that you have not sold.

Bring a cheque for the total amount made out to "4th South West Burnaby Scouting".

Forms must include your name, phone number and section (Beavers, Cubs, Scouts, Venturers).  Also mark on the form what prize you want, based on your sales volume.

All "take order sales" product will be delivered and can be picked up on either November 21 or 22 (Friday or Saturday).  Specific times will be posted later.

• You can get "Show-and-sell" Popcorn every Wed evening from Rick at Willingdon
• The sale ends October 28th.
• Delivery for take-order sales will be Fri and Sat November 20 and 21.
